FB friend of mine, whose work I greatly admire, whose life as an artist working at home with young kids is hilarious, poignant, disorganized, frustrating, inspiring, delightful. (Well, to me anyway, reading his posts, now that I’m out of the hot seat of actually dealing with that stuff.)
ANYWAY, what’s wonderful to me about this piece, besides it being beautifully done, is the story of playing the cards dealt that day, and choosing a banal subject and finding the inspiration in that.
Slow down. Look at whatever is in front of you. Paint that with care.
